Supervised Visitation

Informed Consent

At Ceasefire Mediation, our goal is providing supervised visitation in order to minimize the conflict that children frequently have to endure as a result of custody litigation and/or broken family relationships. Supervised visits allow the child to have safe and positive contact with their parents and/or other significant relatives while repairing broken relationships.

Supervised visits are not intended to be a permanent solution, but a temporary service that supports your child's relationship with both parents while the parties work to move beyond litigation.

These guidelines outline the basic expectations and procedures for services. Failure to comply with guidelines may result in termination of our agency’s services.

Scheduling supervised visits is a process that requires communication between the supervisor, the parties and sometimes the attorneys. There are always questions and issues that requires all parties to be informed. In order to streamline communication, Ceasefire Mediation recommends a parenting app to be used.

Date of Birth

Please submit a signed copy of the court order or written agreement for supervised visitation. The order or agreement should detail the following information:

  • Individuals who are to participate in the supervised visitation sessions and whether any other family members, relatives, or individuals are permitted to attend visits. The order or written agreement must include each individual specifically or they will not be permitted to participate.

  • The schedule of supervised periods of visitation which shall include the days, times, and length of each supervised period of visitation. The agency will attempt to comply with specific times; however, the exact time and day will depend on the availability of agency staff. Currently we operate on a first, third and fifth weekend schedule. Consideration for the schedule will be determined in this order -

  1. Court Orders

  2. Agency Availability

  3. Child(ren)’s schedule(s)

  4. Parent’s availability

  • Location restrictions (if any) of where the supervised periods of visitation are to take place. Most visits take place at the agency’s office; however, off-site visits are possible so long as this is permitted by the court order or written agreement and the location is determined by the agency.

  • The person who is responsible for the cost of the supervised visitation. If the order does not specify who is responsible for the registration fee, the agency will expect that each parent will be responsible for their registration fee respectfully.

Please upload a date stamped copy of the court order or agreement. If you are unable to upload the document here, you can email it to mediatormathews@gmail.com.
