Hello. I am Shelly.

Shelly Mathews is a Certified Relational Wisdom Instructor ® and professional in conflict resolution and management. With over 30 years of both personal and professional encounters, Shelly has experience in family conflict relationships. Shelly has  conducted kinship home studies with Child Protective Services, where she assessed families  through face-to-face interviews on topics such as motivation, childhood history, abuse/neglect,  substance use and abuse, criminal and FPS history, previous relationships, current  relationships, support systems, health and disabilities to assess the family strengths and concerns while supporting a child.

 

Shelly has also provided direct services  to victims of domestic violence while working at the Family Abuse Center as the Director of Legal Services and the liaison to the Waco PD Family Violence Unit and McLennan County Sheriff's Office.

 

Shelly holds a Master of Art degree in  Conflict Resolution and Management from Abilene Christian University and she has completed  the State of Texas requirements for Mediation, Advanced Family Mediation and Parenting  Coordinator/Facilitator. Shelly also has training to conduct Parenting Plan Evaluations. Recently, Shelly has become a Certified Relational Wisdom Instructor® and Coach through Relational Wisdom 360®.

Ceasefire Mediation was originally created by Shelly Mathews as a private practice, providing mediation and parenting coordination services. Ceasefire Mediation has recently expanded into a nonprofit offering more on conflict resolution strategies to our community.
